The Love of a Mermaid
Along with my sisters I stand on the beach. The sun is almost directly above us. It’s noon. We turn to the sea. Our mother is a few dozen metres away in the water. Her hair floats with the incoming tide, her bare arms are just above the water. We wave for a last time, and she swims away. She dove into the depths of the waves.
We turn towards the land. Our destiny will be settled there.
We are beautiful. No one can resist us. All the more our voices. The song of the mermaids. The doom of sailors. But not only the song. Even, when we speak, our melodious voices capture people.
